Datsun GO Cross concept unveiled at Auto Expo 2016; Launch next year

Auto Expo 2016: The Datsun GO Cross concept is based on the existing GO+ MPV platform Datsun, the low-cost car brand of Nissan, unveiled the Go-Cross concept at the ongoing Auto Expo besides slightly modified versions of the GO and the GO+. The Datsun GO-Cross is based on the existing GO+ platform. Since it’s in early concept stage, we expect it to be launched only by 2017 and not this year.  The company, however, has plans to bring in the rediGO based hatchback this year. Similar to other Datsun cars, the GO-Cross too will be launched in several emerging markets starting from India. Though the crossover shares its platform and engines with the GO+, both the vehicles don’t share design as the former looks far more appealing with features such as roof rails, body cladding, 5-spoke alloy wheels, bigger D-cut grille, higher bonnet line and taller sides. While the design of the GO+ and the redi-GO is different, both the vehicles use the same engine – 1.2-litre petrol engine that belts out 67bhp and 104Nm. Thuough for the Datsun GO+, the company might also use the Nissan Micra’s 75bhp 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine. This engine churns out a maximum power output of 104Nm. Datsun that recently launched a new brand campaign in India called #ISayYes also promoted the same at its Auto Expo 2016 pavilion. Besides the GO-Cross, the company also displayed slightly accessoried versions of its existing cars – GO and GO+
