BYD (Build Your Dreams) will be unveiling the Seal electric sedan in India tomorrow, i.e, 5 March 2024. It will be the third battery-powered passenger vehicle by the Chinese brand after e6 and Atto 3 to go on sale in India. Bookings of the Seal officially began last week at a refundable token amount of Rs 1 lakh.
Notably, customers who book the Seal on or before April 30 will be eligible to win 2024 UEFA match tickets and round-trip flight tickets from India to the match city through a BYD-organised promotion. Names of the lucky winners will be announced in May 2024 on BYD’s official social media handles and India website.
BYD Seal EV: Exterior
The BYD Seal electric sedan flaunts a sweeping and aerodynamic design with an impressive aero drag coefficient of 0.219 Cd. In terms of dimensions, Seal EV measures 4,800mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,460mm in height. Wheelbase of the battery-powered sedan stands at 2,920mm.
The swooping roofline gives it a coupe-like profile. The side skirts and lowered stance further lends the car a sporty appeal. Buyers can choose from four exterior paint schemes namely Cosmos Black, Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, and Arctic Blue.
BYD Seal EV: Interiors & Features
Inside the cabin, the Seal EV gets a unique dashboard with multiple creases and curves. Taking centre stage is a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s instrument cluster. Another prominent highlight is its multi-functional steering wheel with the ‘BYD’ branding. It gets a boot space of 400 litres and a 53-litre cargo volume for the frunk.
Other notable features offered in Seal EV include an all-glass roof, heated front seats and advanced driver assistance features like Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Collision Warning, etc.
BYD Seal EV: Powertrain
Based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Seal electric sedan is expected to be powered by an 82kWh battery with a range of 570 km WLTP. The battery sends energy to one motors on each axle, delivering a total output of 523 bhp and 670 Nm. With an all-wheel drive setup, Seal EV can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in 3.8 seconds and claims a top speed of 180 kmph. With a 150 kW DC fast charger, it juices up from 30% to 80% in just 26 minutes.
