BYD is gearing up to launch the facelifted e6 MPV in India with a new name. Earlier believed to be called M6, it has now been confirmed to be named “eMax 7”. The earlier avatar of the people’s mover was solely on offer for fleet operators, the upcoming iteration is expected to be offered to the private consumers as well.
Currently, the Chinese automaker has two offerings in the passenger vehicle (PV) space in the form of Atto 3 SUV and the Seal sedan. The MPV features reworked exterior styling even though the overall design will remain the same.
BYD e6 facelift: Changes expected
The updated exterior will involve a sleek new front fascia, featuring full-LED headlamps with a distinctive LED DRL signature flanking the BYD branding at the centre. A satin trim element, adorned with the BYD monogram connects the headlamps. Meanwhile, the redesigned front bumper boasts more dynamic air vents and subtle chrome accents.

The rear of the e6 facelift will also undergo some transformation, featuring expansive wraparound tail-lamps with intricate LED detailing, creating a striking visual statement. The rear bumper has been refined, with the addition of chrome inserts. Although the vehicle’s profile remains largely unchanged, the e6 is anticipated to unveil a sleek new set of alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the biggest addition to the eMax 7 will be a third row of seats which signifies its availability to private consumers. Other changes will include a new and larger 12.8-inch floating touchscreen display, replacing the previous 10.1-inch unit, a new steering wheel, and a revised centre console featuring two wireless charging pads, new switchgear, and a sleek drive selector lever.
BYD e6 facelift: Expected powertrain specs
Internationally, BYD offers two battery options with the e6– a 55.4kWh unit with a claimed range of 420 km and a 71.8kWh unit with 530 km range. The India-spec model is expected to be offered with the latter only. This battery is expected to power an electric motor returning a peak output of 201 bhp and 310 Nm.
