Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India, is known for this exotic car collection, but recently, he created a buzz for upgrading his security vehicle with a Land Rover Defender. This is not the first time we have seen this as the Ambani family’s security has a fleet of Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMGs.
Land Rover Defender 110X adds muscle to security
A recently shared video by Cars For You on YouTube showcased the billionaire’s new addition to his security fleet with the purchase of a Land Rover Defender 110 X, valued at around Rs 1.39 crore. The matte finish SUV was seen beside Poonawalla’s SUV, the Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure, which cost in the region of Rs 7 crore. As glamorous as the Bentley SUV is, it was the Defender that created all the news. The video was shot when Poonawalla was exiting Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment’s office in Santacruz, Mumbai.
The Defender 110 X is powered by a 5-litre V8 petrol with an output of 516 bhp and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It does 0 – 100 kmph in 5.4 seconds and has a top speed of 240 kmph. With air suspension set up, it has a standard ground clearance of 218 mm and 290 mm in offroad mode.
Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure specs
The Bentayga EWB Azure is 4-litre V8 petrol engine, which delivers 542 bhp and 770 Nm of torque. The luxury accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 290 kmph. The vehicle is equipped with Dynamic Ride system, an electrically powered anti-roll system that minimizes cabin roll during high-speed cornering. This system maintains the soft suspension during regular driving. Additionally, the V8 engine features All-Wheel Steering.
