After much anticipation, MG Motor has rolled out the updated Hector as part of its mid-life update. The refreshed MG Hector has been introduced at an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 11.99 lakh, with bookings opening from today.

On the outside, the Hector facelift features a reworked front grille with a hexagon-pattern design, while the bumper layout remains unchanged. It continues to use the existing LED headlamp and DRL units, along with black cladding around the wheel arches, side body cladding and a shark-fin antenna.

The 18-inch alloy wheels have been given a new design and are wrapped in 215/55 tyres. Two fresh exterior paint options—Celadon Blue and Pearl White—have also been added to the palette.

Step inside, and the cabin receives a noticeable update with a new dual-tone Urban Tan interior theme. The centrepiece is a large 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports i-Swipe gesture-based controls—two-finger gestures manage the climate control functions, while three-finger gestures adjust audio tracks and volume.

Additional features include a digital auto key, proximity-based lock and unlock, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, redesigned horizontal AC vents and an Infinity by Harman audio system. Buyers can choose from five-, six- and seven-seat layouts, with the seven-seater configuration reserved exclusively for the Hector Plus. The infotainment system is also equipped with expandable VRAM, supporting up to 10GB.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with either a manual gearbox or a CVT, delivering 141 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. On the safety front, the SUV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags and a 360-degree camera. MG has confirmed that details of the diesel variant will be announced at a later date.
