The second-gen Skoda Kodiaq is expected to make its India debut sometime next year, although the Czech carmaker is yet to officially announce the same.

Skoda unveiled the second-gen Kodiaq globally in October last year. While it’s still unclear when the all-new Kodiaq will come to India, test mules of the same have already hit the Indian roads. An uncamouflaged test unit of the Kodiaq was recently caught on camera near Pune.

The latest test mule was found wearing a white colour scheme and the images confirm that the SUV was undergoing homologation testing by ARAI which is based out of Pune. The latest set of spy shots indicate an imminent launch of the premium SUV in India, which is expected in the coming months.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Exterior design

The new-generation Kodiaq receives an evolutionary upgrade, building upon the existing model’s design language. Although its overall silhouette appears slightly more angular and boxy, the front fascia retains a familiar look, featuring Skoda’s iconic butterfly grille with sleek, all-black vertical slats. The grille is now accompanied by a redesigned split-headlight setup, boasting a wider headlamp cluster and distinctive LED daytime running lights (DRLs), lending the Kodiaq a fresh and modern appearance.

The front bumper has been recontoured, featuring a sleeker all-black air dam that adds a touch of sophistication. Upon closer inspection, a radar sensor is visible at the front, hinting at the introduction of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The side profile remains largely unchanged, with subtle creases and a familiar silhouette, although new alloy wheel designs are expected to be introduced.

The rear of the new Kodiaq features a striking redesign, highlighted by sleek C-shaped LED taillights that prominently display the Skoda lettering at their centre. Additional visual enhancements include a roof-mounted spoiler, optional D-pillar trim in a distinctive Dark Chrome finish, and squared-off wheel arches accentuated by black claddings, all combining to create a bold and dynamic appearance.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Dimensions

Notably, the rear overhang appears longer, suggesting an increase in the SUV’s overall length, which could potentially translate to more interior space or cargo room. Measuring 4,858mm in length, the new Kodiaq boasts a 61mm increase in length, while retaining its wheelbase of 2,971mm.

In terms of cargo capacity, the SUV offers a spacious 940 litres of boot space with the thrid-row seats folded, which reduces to 340 litres when the third row is in use. However, with both the second and third-row seats folded flat, the cargo area expands to a generous approximately 2,100 litres, providing ample room for luggage.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Interiors & features

Although the interior design of the new-gen India-spec Skoda Kodiaq remains a mystery, it’s expected to mirror the layout of its European counterpart, adapted for right-hand drive. The upcoming Kodiaq is poised to boast an impressive array of features, including a 13-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, LED matrix headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, and advanced Level 2 ADAS.

Additional comforts and conveniences include ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, multi-color ambient lighting, a premium branded sound system, and a powered tailgate. Safety is paramount, with up to 9 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and ADAS, all working in tandem to protect occupants.

2025 Skoda Kodiaq: Expected powertrain specs

The global-spec Kodiaq comes with multiple engine options  including a mild-hybrid, turbo-petrol, diesel and even a plug-in hybrid option. However, the India-spec model is expected to carry on with the same 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. This motor kicks out 188 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be paired exclusively with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission.
