MG Motor has launched the 2025 ZS and the international market will get a hybrid option. There is no word of that trim making its way to India yet. The ZS is available with two drivetrains, the EV and the petrol-powered one under the nameplate of Astor.
2025 MG ZS: India plans
The all-electric and internal combustion engine versions of the new ZS are expected to arrive in India next year. The million question remains whether JSW MG will launch the new ZS Hybrid+, which would compete with the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and the Toyota Hyryder. The hybrid powertrain includes a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 1.83 kW battery and a 45kW motor, delivering a total output of 192 bhp. MG Motor claims the hybrid can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.7 seconds. Currently, JSW MG Motor has not disclosed any details regarding the ZS Hybrid+.
2025 MG ZS: Design
The new ZS retains its silhouette and exterior DNA, as the design represents an evolution rather than a complete overhaul. The front fascia has been significantly updated, featuring a broader all-black grille and L-shaped air dams on the bumper. It also sports new, sleek LED headlights paired with connected LED DRLs. At the rear, subtle changes include updated LED tail lamps and a redesigned bumper, while the top-tier model boasts a fresh set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin is completely revamped as the dashboard houses a 12.3-inch infotainment system with a navigation system, a 7-inch instrument display, rear parking sensors with a camera, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and keyless entry. The premium model offers leather upholstery, heated seats and steering wheel, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, a wireless phone charger, and a 360-degree camera. The new ZS comes equipped with an ADAS safety suite, which encompasses adaptive cruise control, active emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, and traffic jam assist.
