JSW MG has launched the 2025 Astor, which is packed with a couple of segment-first features. It is the only 1.5-litre petrol-powered mid-size SUV equipped with a panoramic sunroof and a 10-inch infotainment system under Rs 12.5 lakh, ex-showroom. The two features are available in the newly launched variant, the Shine.
2025 MG Astor: What’s new?
MG Motor has introduced a new and value-for-money Shine trim, which is packed with features like 17-inch alloy wheels, push button start/stop button, CVT automatic gearbox and silver finish roof rails. The new 10-inch infotainment comes with a six-speaker sound system, five USB charging ports and keyless entry. In terms of safety, reserve parking camera, airbags, ABS and EBD, electronic stability program, traction control system, hill hold and hill descent control, all four disc brakes and front fog lamps with cornering assist.
The Astor gets a new mid-trim, the Select, which comes with additional features like LED tail lights, leather wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, six airbags, new user interface, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, in-built Jio Saavn app, over-the-air updates, auto headlights, power foldable ORVMs, rear parcel shelf, wireless phone charger, tyre pressure monitoring system, and much more.
The Astor is one of the first vehicles in the Indian market to offer Level 2 ADAS features, including lane assist functions, adaptive cruise control, forward collision prevention, etc.
2025 MG Astor: Engine Specifications
The Astor is available in two petrol engine options — the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and the 1.3-litre turbo. The former produces 108 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, while the turbo churns out 138 bhp and 220 Nm. The NA powertrain is mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT, and the turbo offers the same manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic torque converter.
The Astor price range starts from Rs 11.30 lakh to Rs 17.56 lakh (ex-showroom).
