Mercedes Benz is gearing up to launch the all-new E-Class in India later this year and the German marque has confirmed that the luxury saloon will be offered in the long wheelbase form in the country. Ahead of its launch, the new sixth-gen E-Class has been caught on cameras in India.
Two test mules of the luxury sedan— one black and the other coloured silver— were spied at a yard in Pune. Like all locally assembled Mercs, the upcoming E-Class will be rolled out from the company’s Chakan-based facility in Pune through Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits. The sixth-gen E-Class made its global debut in April 2023.
2025 Mercedes Benz E-Class: Design
The sixth-gen E-Class gets a redesigned front fascia with a piano black finish around the single slat front grille flanked by reprofiled LED headlamps. The roof gets a sharp kink just beyond the C pillar, giving the E-Class LWB a coupe-like profile. At the rear, the car gets quad LED taillights with a unique star-shaped pattern for the brake lights.
Further, the rear bumper is laced with chrome inserts around the faux exhaust vents. Other visual highlights include flush-fitting door handles, and 18-inch dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels. As for dimensions, the new E-Class LWB measures 5,092 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,493 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 3,094 mm.
2025 Mercedes Benz E-Class: Features
Interiors of the E-Class LWB will be in sync with the latest generation of Mercs with a superscreen setup dominating the dashboard. This would comprise a 14.9-inch central touchscreen infotainment display, a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and front passenger infotainment unit, all running on the latest MBUX system.
Other notable features on offer will include ambient lighting, paddle shifters, dual-tone upholstery, Burmester-sourced audio system, four-zone climate control, and power-reclining rear seats with an ottoman function, air suspension, and rear wheel steering. In terms of safety, the new E-Class LWB will benefit from the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with Level 4 autonomous features.
2025 Mercedes Benz E-Class LWB: Powertrain
Internationally, the sixth-gen E-Class is available with as many as six engine options. The India-spec E-Class LWB is likely to get a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol, a 2.0-litre diesel, and 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine options, all paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. All variants of the E-Class LWB will be offered with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
