Skoda will unveil the fourth generation Superb globally on 2 November 2023. Ahead of its global premiere, the Czech carmaker has released official images of the new-gen Superb. The design sketches show Skoda’s flagship sedan will wear a very different look from its predecessor.

Like the current model, the fourth-gen Superb will be available in both sedan and station wagon body styles. Design of the new Superb will be based on Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language. This includes subtle cosmetic updates while retaining traditional Skoda design elements.

2024 Skoda Superb: Exterior design

For instance, the upcoming Superb gets a slightly revised yet recognisable butterfly front grille flanked by sleek LED Matrix beam headlights with integrated LED DRLs. The front bumper is redesigned which houses a wider and sleeker air dam, giving it a cleaner look. Side profile remains largely unchanged with a prominent shoulder line, barring the new alloy wheel design.

At the rear, the sedan gets sleeker LED taillights with crystalline elements, a redesigned boot lid and an Audi-inspired bumper. Despite being underpinned by the same MQB platform as the current Superb, the new-gen Superb will be 43 mm longer at 4912 mm and 12 mm taller at 1481 mm. The subtle changes in profile has resulted in aerodynamic improvements with a drag coefficient of 0.24 Cd.

Inside the cabin, the new-gen Superb will wear a completely different look with better quality and sustainable materials, an all-new 13-inch infotainment system, and customisable rotary controllers. Increase in dimensions has resulted in more room for rear seat occupants. Further, luggage capacity of the new Superb has increased by 20 litres to 645 litres.

The plug-in hybrid version gets a 25.7kWh battery pack,  with a maximum range of 100 km in all-electric mode and supports 50kW DC fast charging.

There’s no confirmation of Skoda launching the fourth-gen Superb in India anytime soon but we expect the sedan iteration of Superb to make its way to our shores by the end of next year. However, reports claim that the Czech carmaker will relaunch the third-gen Superb in India as a CBU model with an expected price tag of over Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will receive ADAS features as an addition.
