Taking advantage of their tie-up with Marvel, the tweeted teaser shows two Kwid silhouettes in contrast to the logos of Iron Man and Captain America. Expect the Kwid special editions to showcase some custom decals with design elements from the Marvel’s universe. Aside from the two superheroes already mentioned, the Kwid Superhero edition could also get multiple variants based on other superheroes based on Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. Like the Kwid Hulk edition crossover that Renault announced last year in Brazil.
Renault’s strategy of keeping the Kwid fresh, with a constant line-up of updates and add-ons has paid off, keeping the Kwid hot on the sales charts. Do not expect, however, that these two special editions will get anything in the form of mechanical updates meaning that the 0.8-litre 3-cylinder unit that makes 53 bhp and 72 Nm and the 1.0-litre motor which makes 67 bhp and 91 Nm will continue to the Marvel Special Edition Kwid. Expect the Superhero editions to be priced at a slight premium to the standard Kwid.
