The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 has been one of the most anticipated motorcycles in India, especially from the last few months. The motorcycle has been spied a couple of time testing on Indian roads that hints towards its nearing launch. Now, the good news is, the new Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 has been recently spied at a dealership in India for the first time. The spy image issued by Rushlane shows the model being spied in a dual tone shade of red and matte grey. The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 gets its power from a 155cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine mated to a six-speed transmission system. The motor will get VVA (Variable Valve Timing) technology with the India-spec model that gets confirmed with the VVA stickering on the fairing as seen in the spy image. The engine is good for developing a maximum power output of 19 hp along with a peak torque of 14.7 Nm that makes it one of the most powerful bikes in the segment. The gearbox is further assisted to a slipper clutch in order to ensure smooth operation while aggressive downshifts.
The Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 gets its braking done with the help of a 282mm disc brake up front that pairs with a 240mm disc brake at the rear. An ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) will be likely as the said safety equipment is getting mandatory for all two-wheelers in India having an engine displacement of 125cc and above starting April 2018. As seen in the spy images, it is clear that the suspension set up of the India-bound R15 V3.0 comes with conventional telescopic forks at the front and ditches the upside down units that come internationally. The rear is handled by a monoshock.
The new Yamaha YZF-R15 V3.0 is expected to be launched in India at a price of close to Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle has been a hit in the Indian two-wheeler market and the next-generation model will be a big step to keep the bike’s popularity intact.
