Ultraviolette launched two new battery-powered products recently: Tessaract and Shockwave. Just like their names, the scooter and the motorcycle have very fancy designs to complement the same. A couple of months ago, Ola Electric launched its first electric motorcycle— the Roadster X.
As the name suggests, the Ola Roadster X is a road-friendly motorcycle whereas the Shockwave from Ultraviolette is an adventure. Both motorcycles are yet to go into production. Let us take a look at how these two motorcycles fare against each other.
Ultraviolette Shockwave vs Ola Roadster X+: Powertrain
The battery and motor specs of Ultraviolette Shockwave are comparable to the higher-spec Roadster X+ with the 4.5 kWh battery unit. Not only does Ola offer a better range on a single charge (252 km), it also offers a more powerful electric motor which pushes out 24 bhp as compared to 14.5 bhp offered in Ultraviolette Shockwave. Top speed on both bikes are almost similar.

Ultraviolette Shockwave vs Ola Roadster X+: Features
Ultraviolette Shockwave is loaded to the brim with features such as an LED headlamp, digital instrument panel, Intelligent rider safety, radar technology, connected and temperature-controlled riding gear, aviation based motor technology, voice-based communication systems and more. Safety is handled by four traction control modes, switchable dual-channel ABS, and six levels of dynamic regeneration.
On the other hand, Roadster X+ comes equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, LED lighting for the headlamp, taillight, and turn indicators, as well as advanced functionalities like cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation via Ola Maps, reverse mode, OTA updates, a digital key, and a DIY mode. Safety features include a tyre pressure monitoring system, geo and time fencing, tow and theft detection, emergency SOS, and a vehicle locator.
Ultraviolette Shockwave vs Ola Roadster X+: Price
The Shockwave is priced at Rs 1.75 lakh but first 1,000 customers can have it for Rs 1.49 lakh. On other hand, Ola Roadster X+ with the 4.5 kWh battery unit is being offered at an introductory price of Rs 1.05 lakh but comes with a sticker price of Rs 1.20 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
