Exports play a major role for two-wheeler makers in India, such as Honda, Bajaj, TVS, and others. Month-on-month, most two-wheeler makers have seen an increase in exports, and this is primarily owing to some manufacturers building a few models in India to export them globally. Motorcycles such as the KTM Duke, Triumphs, and other commuter motorcycles and scooters are built here. That said, here are the top five two-wheeler brands that were exported in May 2025.
Top two-wheeler exports in 2025
Leading the export list is Bajaj, as usual, having exported 1,40,958 units in May 2025. Bajaj exports several models such as the Pulsar, and also models from KTM and Triumph that are a global success. Bajaj’s exports have also seen a 20.3 percent YoY increase when compared to May 2024, when the Pune-based manufacturer exported 1,17,142 units.
In second is TVS, which again exports commuter motorcycles and BMW motorcycles to global markets. TVS’ exports in May 2025 accounted for 1,06,879 units in May 2025, as compared to exporting 88,450 units a year ago, registering a 20.8 percent growth. These numbers are expected to go up soon with TVS building the new BMW 450cc range in India, along with Nortons.
The next two spots are taken by two Japanese giants — Honda and Yamaha. Honda manages to take the lead here, having exported 47,859 units in May 2025, while Yamaha exported 29,431 units last month. Both two-wheeler brands have seen an increase in exports.
In fifth is Suzuki, which has updated the Access, it’s best-seller, while also getting ready to launch its first electric vehicle, the eAccess. The Japanese two-wheeler maker exported 21,116 units in May 2025 as compared to exporting 19,480 units in May last year.
