After getting first glimpse at the last edition of Motoverse (formerly called Rider Mania), Royal Enfield has officially unveiled the Shotgun 650. First introduced, as a pre-production concept as SG 650 at EICMA 2021, the Shotgun 650 is based on the same parallel-twin engine platform as the other 650s from Royal Enfield.
A limited-run Motoverse Edition was launched at the recent motoring festival for Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 25 lucky Motoverse attendees managed to grab hold of this limited edition model. Royal Enfield has confirmed the launch of Shotgun 650 across global markets early next year.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Design
Unlike the Motoverse Edition, which gets a unique colour scheme with funky body graphics, the production-sec Shotgun 650 gets more regular paint schemes such as Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheetmetal Grey. The Shotgun 650 blends retro-futuristic design with modern features.

It gets signature Royal Enfield elements such as a round headlamp, circular turn indicators, a teardrop shaped fuel tank, minimal side panels, and thick front forks. Enfield says its modular design lets it from a classic single-seater to a dual-seater. Other visual highlights include a gloss black engine cover, twin peashooter exhaust mufflers, spoked alloy wheels, shortened front and rear fenders, and a wide, flat handlebar.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Features
In terms of features, it essentially shares the same equipment as the Super Meteor 650 with contents like a semi-digital instrument console, Tripper Navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED illumination, and a USB charging port. It also benefits from the new Royal Enfield Wingman app that provides information regarding live location, fuel and engine oil levels, service reminders and more.
Royal Enfield will be offering as many as 31 accessories under the Genuine Motorcycle Accessories (GMA) programme.
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Specs
Based on the same 650-Twin platform as Super Meteor, Interceptor, and Continental GT 650, the frame sits on 43mm Showa big piston front upside down forks, and twin tube 5-step preload adjust RSU at the rear. It rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch front alloy wheels while braking duties are carried out by 320mm front and 300mm rear disc brakes aided by dual-channel ABS.

Powering the Shotgun is the same 649cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine which is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch. This motor pumps out an identical 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque. Like the Super Meteor, the Shotgun 650 weighs a hefty 240 kg (1 kilo lighter). It has a fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres.
