The Royal Enfield Himalayan is earning itself a unicorn badge owing to its usable power and go-anywhere capabilities. The problem with that is it attracts rivals, and one of them was from CFMoto and now, another Austrian-Chinese brand, Brixton. The motorcycle maker will be launching the Brixton Storr 500 in the European market soon, and it will rival the Himalayan amongst others.
Brixton Storr 500 — What is it?
The Brixton Storr 500 was first showcased at EICMA 2022 and was supposed to go on sale in Europe in 2023. However, there were some snags along the way and the motorcycle maker is ready to launch the motorcycle. The Brixton Storr 500 will be made in China by Gaokin Moto and the Chinese version of the motorcycle is already on sale in China.
The Storr 500’s design seems to be inspired by the Norden 900, however, the motorcycle features an exposed frame and a sleek design, something closer to the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
The motorcycle features USD forks, 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, a monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends and a high-mounted exhaust amongst others. The motorcycle could feature a TFT dash as well, with navigation and phone connectivity.
Powering the motorcycle is a 47bhp 486cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 43Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed gearbox. There is no news on the type of electronics package the motorcycle gets, but a dual-channel ABS is sure, along with ride modes.
Now speaking about its India launch, it is too early to comment on the Storr 500 arriving here. However, Brixton has confirmed that it will be launching four new motorcycles in India and given the Adventure motorcycle market and the opportunity, the Storr 500 is likely to be one of them.
