Royal Enfield has delayed the launch of the Classic 650 twin, as per reports online. The Chennai-based motorcycle maker was to announce prices of the Classic 650 twin in India this month, however, reports suggest that Royal Enfield will be announcing prices in February 2025. The Royal Enfield Classic 650 was unveiled at EICMA last year.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 — What is it?

The Classic 650 is based on the same platform as the Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650, but with a few tweaks. The motorcycle features the iconic styling of the Classic 350 with a tear-drop tank, full fenders, spoke wheels, a headlight casing with a round headlight, and chunky side boxes. The Classic 650 twin will be positioned below the Super Meteor 650 in the company’s line up.

Select dealers have also started accepting unofficial bookings for the Classic 650 across India and deliveries are expected following the price announcement of the motorcycle. The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 3.5 lakh, ex-showroom.

Royal Enfield Classic 650 — Engine specifications and features

Powering the Royal Enfield Classic 650 twin is the same powerplant that does its duty on the Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 — a 648cc air and oil-cooled twin-cylinder engine that makes 46.3bhp and 52.3Nm of peak torque with the help of a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of features, the Classic 650 is kept as close as possible to the Classic 350, featuring telescopic front forks with covers on them, dual rear shocks, spoke wheels, disc brakes at both ends, an analogue metre, and a single seat. The motorcycle will have an optional rear seat that bolts on.
