Flipkart listed Royal Enfield motorcycles earlier in May this year. However, the bikes from the Chennai-based bikemaker are yet to go on sale through the online retail platform. It has now been revealed that Royal Enfield bikes will go on sale in Flipkart from September 22 onwards.
This happens to be the same date when the new GST rates come into effect. For the uninitiated, the new GST rates and abolition of compensation cess earlier this month has resulted in a price drop for all two-wheelers with an engine capacity less than 350cc. As of now, Royal Enfield has only listed its 350cc range of bikes on the e-commerce website.
Royal Enfield now on Flipkart
This includes the Classic 350, Hunter 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, and Goan Classic. The most affordable in this range is the Hunter with a starting price of Rs 1,37,640 (ex-showroom) after the recent GST revision. The most expensive in this range is the Goan Classic which costs Rs 2,20,716 (ex-showroom).
Speaking on this partnership with Flipkart, B Govindarajan, Managing Director – Eicher Motors Ltd., & CEO – Royal Enfield, said, “At Royal Enfield, our mission has always been to make the pure motorcycling experience accessible to more riders. Partnering with Flipkart allows us to meet today’s digital-first customers where they are requiring a simple, convenient way to explore and purchase their motorcycles online.”
Initially, the Royal Enfield 350cc bikes will be available for sale through Flipkart only in selected cities including Bengaluru, Gurugram, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai. The customer journey for delivery and after-sales support will be fulfilled by their preferred Royal Enfield authorised dealer in these cities.
