KTM has been on a roll with the new Adventure range, having unveiled multiple motorcycles — 390 Adventure R, 390 Adventure S, 390 Enduro R, and 390 SMC R. Now, KTM has taken the wraps off the newest motorcycle in the family, the 125 Enduro R. Let’s take a detailed look at the smallest Enduro R offering from KTM.
KTM 125 Enduro R — More details
The new KTM 125 Enduro R will be built by Bajaj in India, and will be underpinned by the same chassis as the larger 390 Enduro R. The motorcycle gets USD forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear with 230mm travel. The front gets no adjustment, while the rear suspension gets preload adjustment. All added, it gets 272mm of ground clearance and tips the scale at 152kg.
The 125 Enduro R has other similarities also compared to the larger 390 Enduro R such as a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, both wrapped in Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres. The wire-spoke wheels are tubeless ones and braking duties are taken care of by disc brakes at both ends, the same units as the larger 390. It also gets ABS that can be turned off through a dedicated switch. The motorcycle gets a 4.2-inch TFT instrument console with phone connectivity.
KTM 125 Enduro R — Engine specifications
Powering the new KTM 125 Enduro R is a familiar engine — the 125cc liquid-cooled unit that does its duty on the 125 Duke sold in India. While the motorcycle will be made by Bajaj in India, its launch here is unlikely, primarily owing to the price-sensitive market. The 125 Enduro R will be a great platform for beginners who can slowly upgrade to the 390, however, pricing will be a concern.
