What is the Kawasaki KLX 230 S?
The Kawasaki KLX 230 S is a dual-sport motorcycle with off-road capabilities. The motorcycle features a long travel telescopic suspension at the front, a monoshock at the rear, a 21-18 wheel setup, spoke wheels, minimal bodywork, a tall motocross-style seat, disc brakes at both ends, a headlight, tail lamp, blinkers, and more. The KLX 230 S could be called a dirt bike for the road.
The motorcycle is powered by a 233cc, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that makes 19.7bhp and 20.3Nm of torque, paired to a six-speed gearbox. Kawasaki has taken measures to keep the costs low, while the motorcycle still gets ABS and an LCD metre console with phone connectivity.
When launched, the KLX 230 S will compete with the Hero XPulse directly in terms of specifications, however, the motorcycle can be priced higher than the XPulse and will compete with larger motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Himalayan. More details will be known around its launch date.
