The Versys 300X was one of the most capable small ADVs in the class, but it was an expensive affair. Now. Kawasaki is making plans to relaunch the motorcycle in India ahead of the festive season, which could draw attention away from the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure.

This time, Kawasaki could localise the manufacturing of the new Versys 300X, helping keep the costs competitive. Kawasaki has localised manufacturing of the Ninja 300, and given that it shares the same engine and other components, costs could see a decrease.

The Kawasaki Verysys 300X is one of the most capable off-roaders in Kawasaki’s lineup, as it gets spoke wheels, long travel suspension at both ends, disc brakes at both ends, an upright seating position with a wider bar, and good wind protection for the long highway runs.

Powering the Kawasaki Versys 300X will be the same 296cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine from the Ninja 300, which makes a healthy 39bhp and 26Nm of torque with the help of a 6-speed gearbox. Kawasaki is expected to price the Versys 300X under Rs 4 lakh, making it a great alternative to the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the KTM Adventure series.
