A recently-surfaced design patents reveal that Honda is working on an adventure motorcycle, and possibly in the entry-level segment targetting the new Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure. The design has already been applied for registration by Honda.

The image looks very similar to the Enfield’s silhouette with long travel suspension, split seat design, round headlight, and an up-swept exhaust. However, this is a reference image, and the final product will be different.

As per various reports, Honda seems to have even patented the front fairing of the motorcycle, which is a high-mounted unit that wraps around the headlight, offering protection for the rider.

Keeping in mind that this is an entry-level adventure tourer, Honda could use the tried and tested CB350 platform and even the engine, helping keep the price competitive. However, there is no news about the motorcycle being in development so the launch is a long way.
