Indian Motorcycle, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Plaris Industries, has launched the all-new 2016 Indian Springfield in the Indian market. Available in two colours, the Indian Springfield is priced at Rs 30.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Named after the Indian Motorcycle’s birth place, the Springfield belongs to the Indian ‘Chief’ range.

The Indian Springfield is essentially a high-performance touring bike, though it can be converted into a cruiser with the quick-release windshield and saddlebags removed. The Indian Springfield comes with several comfort features such as remote locking hard bags, adjustable passenger floorboards with real leather seating, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic cruise control, tire pressure monitoring, a powerful headlamp and dual driving lights.
Powering the Indian Springfield is the Thunder Stroke 111cc engine that returns a whopping 138.9Nm of peak torque at 2600rpm. The tourer is based on a new chassis that has been designed to handle a wide laod range as it features cartridge forks and an air adjustable rear shock with 11.43 cm of travel for safely transporting up to 241.7 Kg.
