The big bikes from Honda may not be a common occurrence on Indian roads but they are machines which are renowned for performance and reliability globally. The Japanese auto giant retails some of these models from its Big Wing chain of dealerships. It seems Honda is planning to ramp up its Big Wing lineup with another flagship model on cards.
Honda has filed patents for the NT1100 in India. The flagship touring machine made its debut in 2022 and an updated version of the same broke cover in October 2024. Until now, the NT1100 has been exclusively reserved for European markets.
Honda NT1100: Design
While a mere patent application isn’t enough to confirm a market launch, it does reveal that Honda is at least considering the NT1100 for the Indian market. In the updated iteration, the NT1100 gets a more aggressive styling courtesy of the mean-looking headlights and integrated LED DRLs which double up as indicators.
Since it’s based on the same platform as the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, a major part of the NT1100 looks visually similar to the former albeit a lower stance. Other visual highlights include a large adjustable windscreen, a pillion grab rail extended into a rugged rack for a top box, and blacked-out internals.
Honda NT1100: Specs & Features
Powering the NT1100 is the same 1084cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the Africa Twin. This motor pumps out 101 bhp and 112 Nm of peak torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. There are plenty of electronic rider aids on offer in the NT1100 which are managed by a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).
This includes features such as three preset ride modes: Urban, Rain, and Tour, two custom ride modes, cornering traction control, wheelie control, and cornering ABS. All electronics and other settings can be accessed via the same 6.5-inch TFT instrument panel that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
