The Hero Xoom 160 was launched earlier this year at the Bharat Mobility Expo, with a price tag of Rs 1.48 lakh. Bookings were also open, however, there have been delays and Hero now says that deliveries will commence from August, while dealers will start accepting bookings again.
Hero Xoom 160 — Why the delays?
Deliveries for the Hero Xoom 160 were to commence in April, however, dealers have not received stock of the maxi scooter and bookings were also suspended. As per reports, the company has finished training the staff about the new Xoom 160 and deliveries should soon commence. Bookings for the Hero Xoom 160 should also begin soon after the deliveries of the first batch of scooters.
Alongside the new Hero Xoom 160, Hero also launched the XPulse 210, Xtreme 250R and the Xoom 125. Deliveries for these three models have commenced and Xoom 160 will be next. All the above-mentioned models will be sold through Hero’s Premia dealerships, which will soon see more stores across India.
The Hero Xoom is powered by a 156cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 14.6bhp and 14Nm of torque with the help of a CVT gearbox. The Hero Xoom 160 competed directly with the Yamaha Aerox 155, which is also powered by a liquid-cooled engine. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels and the highlight of the Xoom 160 is its styling, along with its engine.
