Japanese motorcycle maker Suzuki has showcased the new GSX-8R at EICMA 2023, based around the new twin-cylinder platform that powers the new V-Strome and the GSX-8S. The Suzuki GSX-8R is a fully-fired motorcycle, completing Suzuki’s offering in the middle weight segment that now consists of the street naked, a fully-faired motorcycle, and an adventure tourer.
The new Suzuki GSX-8R features a full fairing, underbelly exhaust, split seats, clip-on bars, air ducts flanking the vertically-stacked headlight, and the fairing minimal enough to expose the engine and mechanicals.
The motorcycle gets USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, LED lights, disc brakes at both ends and 17-inch wheels. On the electronics side, the Suzuki GSX-8R gets ride-by-wire, low rpm assist, traction control, bi-directional quickshifter, ride modes, ABS, and more.
Powering the GSX-8R is a 776cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 80bhp and 78Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Globally, the new GSX-8R will compete with the Yamaha R7, however, it is unlikely that the new 8R will make it to India.
