There has been a lot of buzz around Bajaj’s upcoming CNG motorcycle in terms of spy shots. However, what Bajaj would call the motorcycle was a question and now, we have an answer to that — Freedom.
Bajaj has filed a trademark for the name under “two-wheelers, specifically electric two-wheelers and two-wheelers operating on compressed natural gas.” This obviously points towards the upcoming 125cc CNG motorcycle, which will be called the Bajaj Freedom 125.
Bajaj Freedom 125 — What we know so far
Bajaj has teased the Freedom 125 several times, and the latest teaser was its instrument console, while the earlier teaser was about the switch on the right-hand side that toggles between petrol and CNG modes.

That said, the Bajaj Freedom 125 could be available in two versions, both featuring traditional telescopic front forks, a monoshock at the rear, a flat seat, a relaxed riding position, LED lights, a digital instrument cluster, and more. The Freedom 125 could get phone connectivity as well, which we will know more about during its launch.
In terms of engine, the Freedom will use a 125cc powerplant, but the amount of power it would make has not been revealed. Given that CNG vehicles make less power compared to their petrol counterparts, the Freedom 125 could make less power compared to Bajaj’s 125cc commuters, or on par with them.
What does ring a bell with the Freedom name is the LML Freedom, a motorcycle that was sold in India. It was powered by a 110cc engine that made 8.5bhp and 8.6Nm of torque. The LML Freedom was first launched in India in 2002 and saw a much-needed update 10 years later in 2013, before it was discontinued in India.
