Aprilia is bringing two new products in the 457cc platform– Tuono and Tuareg. Both motorcycles made their debuts at the latest edition of EICMA in November 2024. The Italian brand already offers the RS 457 based on the same platform and engine combination, and the next in line will be the Tuono 457.
Ahead of its launch, the company has listed the naked streetfighter on the official Aprilia India website. This suggests an official launch is around the corner. Some reports even claim that unofficial bookings for the Tuono 457 have begun in certain dealerships across the country.
Official online bookings for the Tuono 457 are expected to commence most likely in the next couple of weeks. When launched, it will compete against the likes of Hero Mavrick 440, Triumph Speed 400, Royal Enfield Guerilla 450 and Harley-Davidson X440. However, the Tuono is expected to command a slightly more premium price tag over its rivals.
Aprilia Tuono 457: Design
Unlike the larger Tuono RS 660, the Tuono 457 is devoid of the quarter-faring wrapped around the tank and headlamp bezel. That said, the Tuono 457 gets heavy extended tank shrouds which give the motorcycle a muscular appearance and a very aggressive stance. The twin LED headlamp setup which is reminiscent of a giant mantis further amplifies its aggressive styling.
Other visual highlights include split seats, a floating tail section, and an underbelly exhaust. It will be available in two colour options: Piranha Red and Puma Grey.
Aprilia Tuono 457: Specs & Features
Powering the Tuono 457 is the same 457cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which propels the RS 457. This motor pushes out 46.9 bhp and 43.5 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch. There will also be the option for a bi-directional quickshifter.
As expected, the Tuono 457 borrows the same underpinnings as the RS 457 including the aluminium frame which sits on preload adjustable USD front forks and a rear monoshock. Anchorage is handled by disc brakes at both ends. The naked street fighter will roll on 17-inch alloy wheels which are wrapped in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear tyres.
In terms of features, the Tuono 457 will come equipped with a 5-inch TFT digital instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity, ride-by-wire throttle with three customisable ride modes, traction control, LED headlight and taillight, etc.
