Aprilia SR 150 scooter to get four new colours: Spied at dealership

The sporty scooter from Piaggio group, Aprilia SR 150 is all set to get four new colour options in the Indian two-wheeler market. The said colours have been recently spotted at a dealership in Pune. Earlier, the scooter was launched in two colours of glossy white and matte black only. The new shades that have been snapped now are metallic green, metallic light blue, metallic silver and metallic dark blue. The price of the new colour models will likely remain the same. An official announcement regarding the new colour options is expected by the manufacturer soon. Mechanically and in terms of features, there are no changes to the Aprilia SR 150. The Aprilia SR 150 draws its power from a 155cc, air-cooled engine mated to an automatic transmission. The punchy carbureted engine is good for churning out a maximum power output of 10.4 hp along with a peak torque of 11.4 Nm.

Braking on the Aprilia SR 150 is covered by a 220m disc brake up front along with a 140mm drum brake at the rear. The scooter comes fitted with a 6.5-litre fuel tank and has a total kerb weight of 122 kg. The SR 150 runs on 120/70 section tyres that are coupled with 14-inch black alloy wheels.

Due to its competitive price tag and sporty performance, the Aprilia SR 150 has earned good sales numbers in the Indian two-wheeler market. Currently, the SR 150 is the only scooter that offers such a high value for money proposition in the segment. There have been reports that Aprilia will be bringing an updated SR 150 with a revised suspension set up as the company has been receiving complaints regarding the stiff unit on this scooter. Also, reports of low-spec Aprilia SR 125 Motard have also been doing rounds on the rumour mill.

The Aprilia SR 150 is currently priced at Rs 67,904 (ex-showroom, Delhi) in India. The sporty offering challenges the likes of Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125 in terms of pricing.
