Ampere, a part of Greaves Electric Mobility Limited, has launched a new variant of the Magnus electric scooter. Called Magnus Neo, this variant is said to be an enhanced version of the Magnus EX and it is priced at Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom). The scooter will make its debut at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo later this week on January 17.
On the launch of the Ampere Magnus Neo, Kunnakavil Vijaya Kumar, Executive Director & CEO, Greaves Electric Mobility Limited said, “The Magnus has earned the trust and love of customers and this new generation embodies our vision of making ‘Har Gully Electric,’ driving the adoption of eco-friendly commuting to every corner of the country.”
The Magnus Neo will start reaching Ampere dealerships later this month. It will replace the existing Ampere EX from the Magnus lineup. The Ampere Magnus Neo boasts a modern design with sporty accents, including sharp side panels, a sleek LED headlight, a long single-piece seat, and a raised tail section.
Ampere Magnus Neo: What’s on offer?
Ampere Magnus Neo is available in five colour options: Metallic Red, Glacial White, Ocean Blue, Galactic Grey, and Glossy Black. The company claims a slightly higher level of performance with enhanced torque although the exact powertrain specs for the Magnus Neo are yet to be revealed. It claims a higher top speed of 65 kmph and rides on 12-inch alloy wheels.
Another major difference is a 2.3kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery which promises a range of over 100 km on a single charge. It takes 5-6 hours for the battery to get fully charged. There are three riding modes on offer including a reverse mode for easy maneuvering. More importantly, the battery pack itself is portable. In terms of features, the Magnus Neo comes equipped with a USB charging port and an optional smartphone connectivity.
