Every automotive manufacturer across the globe has its own halo product. For Suzuki it is the Hayabusa, for Triumph it’s the Bonneville range and similarly for Ducati it’s surely the Panigale range. It is what authenticates the Italian superbike brand’s racing pedigree at the global stage.
And if you’re wondering, there are more Ducatis on a MotoGP race track, the premiere motorcycle racing event in the world, than any other bikes. Now, Ducati has presented the all-new Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S to the world. The seventh generation Panigale V4 has broken covers at the World Ducati week, and gets plenty of upgrades over its predecessor.
2025 Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S: Design
In fact, the new Panigale V4 is a born out of the bike that won the Superbike World Championship for two consecutive years. As a result, it has undergone revisions in almost every department, be it design, ergonomics, or specifications. Starting with the looks, the new Panigale V4 takes inspiration from the legendary Ducati 916 since is the first flagship Ducati superbike since the 916 to ditch the single-sided swingarm, a move which is sure to leave Ducati fans divided.
Up front, it gets sleeker twin LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. The signature winglets now find themselves under the headlights rather than along the sides which make them slightly discreet, also thanks to a better body-coloured paint finish. Shedding all the bulk, the new Panigale V4 looks more ripped with taut fairings. Ducati continues with signature highlights such a solo rider’s seat, an underbelly exhaust can, and a floating tail section.
2025 Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S: Hardware
The underpinnings of the new Panigale have received a massive upgrade. While the main frame has been carried over from the outgoing model, the rear subframe is all new, thereby reducing the weight of the chassis by 17%. Overall the new Panigale V4 weighs 187 kg (kerb without fuel) while the V4 S weighs 191 kilos (kerb without fuel).
More significantly, Ducati has moved to a double-sided swingarm which is said to improve the bike’s stability during straight line runs. The new swingarm reduces lateral stiffness by 37% compared to the previous single-sided unit ensuring quicker corner exits. The chassis sits on an Ohlins-sourced electronic suspension setup comprising NPX-30 pressurised front forks and a TTX36 monoshock.
The V4 S, however, gets a 43 mm Showa Big Piston fork upfront and a Sachs mono-shock at the rear, both fully adjustable. Anchorage duties are carried out by Brembo HypureTM front brake callipers which are 60 grams lighter than the Brembo Stylema callipers. The superbike rolls on new 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels that are lighter by 2.17 kg resulting in reduced inertia. The wheels are shod with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4 tyres.
2025 Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S: Features & Electronics
The new Panigale V4 gets a MotoGP inspired 6.9-inch TFT fully-digital instrument console with customizable displays for different Track and Road modes. Speaking of which, the new Panigale gets a host of electronic rider aids up its sleeve thanks to a new system called Race eCBS. This system is responsible for monitoring the bike’s lean angle, throttle position and rear load.
Further, the IMU package offers electronic features such as slide control, wheelie control, traction control, power launch, engine brake control, and a quickshifter. There are four power modes on offer– Full, High, Medium and Low.
2025 Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S: Engine specs
Powering the new Panigale V4 range is a 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine which has been derived from Ducati’s MotoGP bike. This motor dishes out 213 bhp at 13,500 rpm and a peak torque of 120.9 Nm at 11,250rpm. Lighter and more powerful than the outgoing model, this V4 unit gets a 90-degree crank which gives it the signature exhaust note of the Desmosedici GP.
By opting for the Ducati Performance racing exhaust by Akrapovič, peak power can be increased to 225 bhp. At the same time, the engine now conforms to the strict Euro 5+ emission standards.
