TVS Motor has recently upgraded its flagship motorcycle, the Apache RR 310, with prices starting at Rs 2.75 lakh, ex-showroom. The motorcycle now boasts a more powerful engine, aerodynamic design enhancements, and an advanced electronics package. In comparison, its sibling, the Apache RTR 310, is a naked motorcycle priced from Rs 2.50 lakh, ex-showroom. Here is all you need to know about the TVS Apache RR 310 and the Apache RTR 310.

Both the RR 310 and the RTR 310 get the 312 cc single cylinder, liquid-cooled, reverse inclined engine but TVS has tweaked the power out of the former fully faired motorcycle to 37.5 bhp at 9800 rpm and 29 Nm at 7900 rpm. Currently, the RR 310 is the most powerful motorcycle in the TVS lineup. It also offers four ride modes — Sport, Track, Urban and Rain. The latter two have a detuned output of 29.5 bhp at 7600 rpm and 26.5 Nm at 6700 rpm. According to TVS, the RR 310 does 0-60 kmph in 2.82 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 6.74 seconds with a top speed of 164 kmph.

The naked Apache RTR 310 has five ride modes and the SuperMoto, Track and Urban options produce 35 bhp at 9700 rpm and 28.7 Nm at 6650 rpm while Urban and Rain churn out 26.7 bhp at 7500 rpm and 27.3 Nm at 6600 rpm. Both the motorcycles are mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and an optional bi-directional quick-shifter. TVS claims that it can achieve  0-60 kmph in 2.81 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 7.19 seconds with a top speed of 150 kmph.

Now comes the million-dollar question, what’s new in the 2024 RR 310? TVS has introduced a pair of winglets on the fairing, which according to the company, generate 3 kgs of downforce, ensuring the front tyre remains planted on the tarmac and ensuring better control at high speeds. The new RR 310 comes packed with segment-first features like Cruise Control, a transparent clutch cover and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. It is also equipped with an electronics suite, which TVS calls RT-DSC (Race Tuned Dynamic Stability Control), which features a first-in-segment 6D IMU that provides Cornering ABS, Cornering traction control, Cornering Cruise control, Wheelie Control, Slope Dependent Control and Rear Lift-off Control. It also has the first-ever cornering cruise control in its class that adjusts the cruising speed based on the lean angle allowing the rider to cruise for longer periods.

TVS has an updated digital 5-inch vertical instrument display which reads out turn-by-turn navigation directions, race telemetry, sets your lap time, alerts on calls and messages, gear position, average fuel economy and speed and usual clocks. It is a smart rider’s console as one can upload three digital documents like a registration certificate, driving license etc. 

The Apache RTR 310 sports a 5-inch horizontal digital console that offers the same functions as the RR 310 including traction control and multiple ABS modes. The SuperMoto mode is only available in the RTR 310.

The Apache RR 310 is available in three variants — Red, Red with quick-shifter, and the fully loaded Bomber Grey. TVS has launched two new colours — Racing Red and Bomber Grey. The naked Apache RTR 310 comes in three trims — Arsenal Black, Arsenal Black with quick-shifter and Fury Yellow. 

Both the motorcycles offer three customization packages — Dynamic Kit for Rs 18,000, Dynamic Pro Kit for Rs 16,000 but only the RTR 310 comes with a climate-controlled saddle. The RR 310 is available with a Race Replica Colour kit for Rs 7000 while the RTR 310 gets a Colour Kit for Rs 10,000. 

Dynamic kit includes fully adjustable front suspension with preload and rebound damping on the adjustable rear mono shock, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Brass Coated drive chain. The Dynamic Pro Kit offers a 6D IMU system with cornering ABS, cornering traction control,  wheelie control, slope-dependent control, rear lift-off control and cornering cruise control.
