Shivraj Singh Chouhan raises concern over duty free import of yellow peas
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is worried about the duty-free import of yellow peas, which is affecting the chana market. He has proposed a 50% duty to prevent price distortion and discourage farmers from growing more pulses. Imported yellow peas are cheaper than MSP and mandi prices, and the issue has been discussed in an inter-ministerial committee.
