The company launched its two new tyres, namely; BK Pilot and BK Raftar. The BK Pilot is a front tyre that comes equipped with features such as directional grooves and wide shoulders for better steering and grip on the road. The BK Raftar, on the other hand, is a rear tyre that features aggressive design and rigid look. The company claims that the tyre is made of a high-performance compound that provides better grip on wet surface.
Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director, BKT Tires, said, “The two-wheeler tyre industry has reported a compounded annual growth rate of 8.5%. Considering the tremendous potential of the market and its reach in rural India, we plan to introduce our flagship tyres at sizes that permeate more than 70% of the total market scope. We also plan to introduce tyres in other sizes to provide complete services to our buyers and gather at least a 10% market share of the Indian agricultural transportation market within the next few years.
According to the tyre manufacturer, entering into the two-wheeler tyre segment, it will offer business opportunities to its existing dealers and will enhance the brand’s availability in the rural markets across the country.
The company was founded in 1987 and since then it was mainly in agriculture, construction and industrial vehicles, earth moving, port and mining, ATV, and gardening applications. The firm has over 6% market share in the off-highway tyres with a sales volume accounting for 850 million US dollars.
