The German GP had some nailbiting action as current championship leader Jorge Martin threw away his lead after a crash with two laps to go. At the same time, Bagnaia took the win, making it his fourth consecutive win of the season. Following him were Marc Marques and Alex Marquez on the podium.
Jorge Martin took a comfortable lead at the start of the race and stayed up front, while Bagnaia kept the pressure on the Pramac rider, which eventually showed when Martin crashed with two laps to go, handing over the championship points to the Italian.
That said, Ducati took the top five spots at the German GP, with Bastianini taking fourth, followed by Morbidelli in fifth. Oliveira took sixth, followed by Acosta, Bezzecchi, Binder, and Fernandez, rounding up the top ten places.
German GP: The race
The German GP saw a lot of action, with one of the most notable being Marquez, having started in 13th and finishing second. Most riders were in tyre-saving mode, including Bagnaia, who took it cool but kept the pressure on Martin, which eventually paid off when Martin lost the front.
The actual battle was for second, between the Marquez brothers, Bastianini, and Morbidelli, which the Gresini team took the better off. This made them the first brothers to take the premier-class podium since 1997 after the Aokis.
For the Japanese teams, Quartararo did the best in 11th, while Honda had to settle down the list towards the end. Crowd favourite Vinales also dropped down the standings after running off the track, finishing 12th in the German GP, while Acosta’s chance to beat Marquez to become the youngest MotoGP race winner record also ended.
