Tata Curvv was one of the most anticipated vehicles launched in 2024. It has garnered positive responses from buyers and industry experts alike. The carmaker has released a video where the coupe SUV is seen demonstrating its strength by pulling a Boeing 737 on a runway which weighs around 48 tonnes.

Tata Motors has released a video of this “act” on YouTube where the Curvv is seen pulling the airplane for 100 metres. This stunt was performed at AIESL Hangar at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The Coupe SUV is seen effortlessly pull the Air India Express plane without breaking any sweat.

Tata Curvv “pulls” another act

This act showcases the structural integrity of the Curvv’s underpinnings. This exemplifies a design with a high Factor of Safety (FOS), exceeding 1. This act was recorded in the India Book of Records. This isn’t the first time that Tata has showcased the strength of Curvv in the public domain.

Earlier last month, the Curvv did a similar act where it pulled three dipper trucks each weighing 14 tonnes, i.e., 42 tonnes in total at one go. Like the earlier act, the latest act also involves a Tata Curvv powered by the 1.2-litre turbocharged Hyperion petrol engine which kicks out 123 bhp and 225 Nm of peak torque. This motor is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In this case, the Curvv was equipped with the former.

Tata Curvv is also one of the safest passenger vehicles on sale in the Indian market today. In October 2024, both Curvv and its fully-electric sibling— Curvv EV — achieved a full 5-star safety rating for Adult as well as Child Occupant Protection at Bharat NCAP. Tata Curvv comes equipped with safety features such as hill hold control, hill descent control, a blind spot monitor, automatic emergency braking, etc.

Tata Motors isn’t new to pulling off such crazy stunts. A few years ago, a Tata Hexa pulled off something similar with a Boeing 737-800 airplane. The Boeing has an operational weight of 41,140 kg. In that case, the Hexa, underpinned by a ladder-on-frame chassis, was powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine that produced 400 Nm of peak torque.
