As Audi India is gearing up for the launch of new genration Audi Q5, globally the company has already started testing its new generation younger Audi Q3 SUV. The second-generation Audi Q3 is currently undergoing the winter testing and is set for a global debut in 2018. Images from Autoevolution also showcases Q3’s LED taillights for the very first time and is very much in-line with Audi’s family design.
New Audi Q3 is the next big SUV model change for the company after Q7 and Q5. It gets angular styling looks and is also based on the MQB platform on which the new Volkswagen Tiguan is also based. The taillights are now longer with aggressive creases. Expect the new Audi Q3 to get a complete new design.
It shares its platform from Volkswagen Tiguan and gets simalar cuts and also gets the same wheelbase. Having said that, the Q3 and Tiguan are very different. Expect the new generation Audi Q3 to be longer, wider and taller than its predessor with more interior space on offer. The SUV that was spotted tested indicates that it is front-wheel-drive and there is no sign of prop shafts at the rear. Audi is yet to share the engine specification of the car but we expect range of VW Group engine to power the new Q3.
New Audi Q3 is likely to debut in India in 2019 and will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The SUV has had a good run for the company in the India market and the new generation models will certainly help Audi India to reach new heights.
