After a string of spy images, MG Motor has officially released a teaser of the Cloud EV. This will be the company’s third EV after the ZS EV and the Comet. The Cloud EV is expected to be priced under Rs 20 lakh and will go against the Tata Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV400.
MG Cloud EV: Design
The Cloud EV features an MPV exterior characterized by clean lines and a high roofline. Teasers indicate it will have a split headlight design, complemented by sleek DRL LEDs within an all-LED headlight assembly. It is equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels and flush door handles. At the rear, the vehicle showcases a connected LED tail light, which includes three horizontal LED lights within the cluster.
MG Cloud EV: Interiors
The Cloud EV has a spacious and versatile cabin. It gets two displays — the 15.6-inch infotainment system and an 8.8-inch TFT instrument cluster. The driver’s seat is 6-way electrically adjustable while the front passenger is 4-way electrically adjustable. It is equipped with four airbags, ABS and EBD, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), an Emergency Stop Signal, an electric parking brake with auto hold, hill hold control, a 360-degree camera etc. It also comes with an ADAS suite with eight features.
MG Cloud EV: Specifications
MG Motor hasn’t revealed the specifications, but based on the international model, the Cloud EV is expected to be packed with a 50.6 kWh battery with an out of 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. The battery is placed on the front axle. With an AC charger, it can juice up from 20 per cent to 100 per cent in seven hours and with a DC charger, it can fully charge from 30 per cent to 100 per cent in half an hour.
The Cloud EV is expected to rival Nexon EV and XUV400 and will make its debut in the festive season.Â
