Maserati unveiled its new super sports car, Maserati GT2 Stradale at the world premiere 2024 Monterey Car Week in California. Held at a US resort, in the setting of The Quail, a motorsport gathering, the highlight of the motorsport week was dedicated to connoisseurs and enthusiasts.

Said to be the result of partnership between the Maserati GT2 and Maserati MC20, the Maserati GT2 Stradale combines in-depth technology transfer, typical of a racing car, combined with the intrinsic qualities of the MC20.

Maserati GT2 Stradale Powertrain

The Maserati GT2 Stradale comes with a top speed of over 320 km/h, maximum output increased to 640 hp (10 hp more than the MC20), a weight decreased by 60 kg and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. It has a V6 Nettuno engine which maintains the 90° V-shaped 6-cylinder twin-turbo layout, with 3.0 litres of displacement and dry sump.

Maserati GT2 Stradale Features

The sports car provides a wide range of options such as, opportunities for customisation with packages, the exclusive Fuoriserie (personalization program) content, and the specific configurations as per availability in markets.

Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO: “Maserati GT2 Stradale intended for everyday driving was created based on the desire to offer our customers more and more in terms of technical mastery, innovation, design and emotions in road driving: on the one hand, we find sophisticated solutions reserved for models designed for track use only, the epitome of Maserati’s racing DNA; on the other, we can guarantee optimal comfort paired with all the most advanced driver assistance systems. Maserati GT2 Stradale is a product that can fulfil the requirements of the most discerning enthusiasts, a new creation that expresses the brand’s entire essence.”

Maserati GT2 Stradale Exterior

The Maserati GT2 Stradale uses the same lightweight carbon fibre chassis as the GT2 track car and MC20 models for exceptional handling and rigidity.

The front features a new design adapting to requirements in terms of cooling and aerodynamics; the forms are functional to the vehicle dynamics. The front ‘mouth’ has been broadened, ensuring greater air flow. The front bonnet comes with an adaptation for the specific aerodynamic requirements of load balancing and to expel hot air. There are three air vents in the bonnet, another three in the front wheel arches, three more near the rear window, and nine-spoke wheel rims, forming a Trident in threes.

The area around the front fender has been modified with air outtakes in the upper part of the fenders to let out hot air to cool the brakes and reduce the pressure inside the wheel arches. The air intakes in the rear fenders, on the other hand, have been completely redesigned and enlarged, producing a new carbon-fibre cupola to improve the flow of cold air, to supply the engine and cool the radiators.

Maserati GT2 Stradale Interior

The cabin has been modified to reduce the weight and bring more enhancement in the structural components, including the carbon-fibre monocoque. The controls for the driver are designed functionally and anti-glare interior with matte finishes and Alcantara upholstery to minimise reflections and distractions while driving.

On the lower part of the central tunnel are the controls for the electric windows and the infotainment volume. There is a wireless charger which has indeed been enlarged to fit the latest smartphones as well as the door handles which feature yellow ‘pull’ lettering.

The car features new carbon fibre double shell seats with foam ends upholstered in Blu Elettrico Alcantara, designed in collaboration with Sabelt. They allow for a lower driving position to enhance the car’s racing feel. The seats come in two sizes: large (standard) and small (optional, for a tighter fit). They can be fitted with three- or four-point harnesses (optional). Both seats have manual adjustments for forward and backward movement, and the driver’s seat height can be adjusted electronically for optimal comfort. The rear bar behind the seats is functional for fastening four-point belts, as is typical in a racing car.

The steering wheel is covered in Alcantara with carbon fibre accents and features contrasting blue stitching that matches the ignition button, interior stitching, and door handles. The paddle shifters set into the steering column, are also available in carbon fibre as an optional extra.

Maserati GT2 Stradale Colour

The GT2 Stradale also has a dual aesthetic spirit, with the upper part in body colour and a technical lower section in carbon fibre painted matte black. Four colours are available are Nero Essenza, Blu Infinito, Gloss Giallo Genio and Matte Bianco Audace. The calliper colours available for the GT2 Stradale are black, red, silver, yellow and oxidised blue. The wheel rims are matte black.

Digital Aurora Matte, a new entry in the Fuoriserie palette, brings the Maserati Fuoriserie customisation programme that includes additional colours which are Grigio Lamiera Matte, Digital Mint Matte, Nero Cometa Textured, Powder Nude Textured, Blu Corse, Azzurro Astro Matte and Military Teal Matte.
