Maruti Suzuki aims to revive the entry-level car segment by launching a value-for-money range called the Dream Series Edition. This limited range offers the Alto K10, S-Presso and Celerio at Rs 4.99 lakh, ex-showroom.
During a media interaction, Partho Banerjee, the head of sales and marketing at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said that the Dream Series Edition is presently available until the end of June. The company will decide on extending this “once in a lifetime deal” depending on customer demand.
Maruti Suzuki’s monthly sales figures indicate that the mini segment, which includes the Alto K10 and S-Presso, recorded sales of 9,902 units in May. This represents a significant year-on-year decrease, as 12,236 units were sold in May 2023. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki aims to boost sales of the Celerio, as its compact segment also experienced a decline, dropping from 71,419 units in May 2023 to 68,206 units in the previous month.

Banerjee further explained that even though the premium hatchback is showing promising signs with a 43 per cent increase, now the company wants to revive the small car segment.
