Lexus has announced the commencement of deliveries for the fifth-generation RX 500h F Sport Performance in India. Displayed first at the Auto Expo 2023, the five-seater luxury SUV garnered significant interest and bookings which opened on the same day of its unveiling in January last year.
Lexus is offering an 8-year warranty on the HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle) battery. Prices for Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance start at Rs 1.18 crore (ex-showroom). The new Lexus RS is positioned between the NX and the LX in the Lexus India lineup. The hybrid crossover is offered in two variants in India namely RX 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport Performance, the former priced at Rs 95.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance: Powertrain specs
Powering the fifth-gen Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance is a 2.4-litre inline-four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine mated to a high-power electric motor at the rear axle. This hybrid powertrain generates a combined peak output of 366 bhp and 460 Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels. Transmission duties in the RX 500h are carried out by a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Assisting the electric motor is a 288V bipolar nickel-metal hydride battery. There are four drive modes to choose from– Normal, Eco, Sport, and Custom. As for performance, the Lexus RX 500h can clock a top speed of 210 kmph. The crossover can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in 6.2 seconds. The dynamic rear-wheel steering offers enhanced manoeuvrability and stability, which adjusts the rear wheels up to four degrees in alignment with the front wheels.
Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance: Features
Interiors of the Lexus RX 500h is based on the company’s Tazuna cockpit which is inspired by the concept of controlling a horse with reins. The Japanese marque is offering three interior colour options including Black, Dark Sepia, and Solid White in addition to two interior trims namely Sumi Woodgrain and Medium Bamboo Brown.
In terms of features, the RX 500h comes equipped with a panoramic glass roof, a 14-inch touchscreen display, wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-zone climate control, and multi-functional steering wheel. Safety package includes 7 airbags, 360-degree camera, and ADAS features such as radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, lane departure assist, collision warning, and lane tracing assist.
