Kia is gearing up to launch its second MPV, the Clavis, which will be slotted above the Carens. The new vehicle will make its debut on May 8. The Clavis will offer many segment-first features, and here are the five features that you need to keep in mind.
Bigger infotainment
The Carens top models come with a 10.25-inch infotainment system while the mid trims get an 8-inch display. The Clavis will up the ante as it is expected to get a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen, the biggest in its segment. The new display provides wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Taking a leaf out of the Syros, Clavis will sport a 12.3-inch digital instrument console, which is again something no other MPV offers.
ADAS safety function
Another first for the Clavis as it is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS feature. The Clavis will be the third vehicle in the Kia lineup to offer this safety feature. The Sonet, on the other hand, gets a Level 1 ADAS. The Clavis will offer an ADAS suite that includes forward collision avoidance assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot collision, lane keep assist and departure warning, etc.
Panoramic sunroof
Everyone knows that Indians love sunroofs, and Kia will offer the Clavis with a panoramic sunroof. This is a major upgrade from the Carens, which has a single-panel sunroof. With a panoramic roof, the cabin is brighter with natural light and feels airy.
Lounging with Boss Mode
Talk about taking convenience to the next level. The Clavis is expected to offer the Boss Mode, where the second row passenger can adjust the distance of the co-driver’s seat from behind and adjust the legroom.
Dual Zone Climate Control
Dual zone climate control makes it convenient for the front passenger and the driver as they can individually customise the temperature accordingly. This is a major upgrade over the Carens’ standard air conditioning system.
