Audi has added a new and more efficient variant of the Q6 e-Tron range of electric SUVs. The new Q6 e-Tron Performance comes with a rear-wheel drive configuration that offers more range than its all-wheel drive counterpart. The Q6 e-Tron made its global debut earlier March this year with a global market launch slated for later this year.

Audi Q6 e-tron Performance: What’s new?

Powering the Q6 e-Tron is a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery ( (94.9 kWh net) which sends power to a single motor mounted on the rear axle. This results in an enhanced range of 641 km on a single charge, according to WLTP, which is 16 km more than the all-wheel drive variant. Like the other models under the Q6 e-Tron range, the Q6 e-Tron is based on the scalable Premium Platform Electric (PPE) .from the Volkswagen Group.

The single electric motor delivers an output of 240 kW (322 bhp) which is lower than the Q6 e-tron Quattro and SQ6 which push out 382 bhp and 510 bhp, respectively. As for performance, it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.6 seconds. Audi claims that 260 kilometres can be added to the tank in just 10 minutes on using an appropriate fast charger.

Audi Q6 e-tron Performance: What’s unchanged?

Besides the rear-wheel driven powertrain, the new Q6 e-tron Performance remains visually and functionally identical to the other Q6 e-Tron variants. In terms of features, the dashboard houses a triple screen layout comprising a 14.5-inch central curved touchscreen infotainment display, a 11.9-inch driver’s instrumentation, and a 10.9-inch infotainment unit for the front passenger.

Other novelties on offer include an optional augmented reality heads-up display, connected car technology, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. Deliveries of the all-wheel drive variants of Q6 e-Tron are expected to commence from August this year, whereas India launch is most likely next year. Launch of the rear-wheel drive Q6 e-Tron Performance in India can’t be confirmed at this point of time.
