With all-new design, the 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta model looks a lot better than the outgoing one.
The all-new Toyota Innova Crysta, that made its debut at Delhi Auto Expo 2016, will be launched in May, reveal our sources. And the bookings for the car will commence a month before its launch. The 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta is based on an all-new IMV (International Multi-purpose vehicle) platform that makes it lighter, stiffer and safer than the current generation model. Since the company displayed both the 2.4-litre GD and 2.8-litre GD diesel-engined models at the Motor Show, there is a very high probability of both coming to our shores. Transmissions duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The MPV’s new GD engine lineup is claimed to be 10% more fuel efficient than the current diesel powertrain.
With all-new design, the 2016 Toyota Innova Crysta model looks a lot better than the outgoing one. The car gets a new dual-slats chromed grille, integrated LED daytime running lamps, new sweptback headlamps and fog lamps, revised bumpers and multi-layered bootlid. While the higher trims are assembled with 17-inch alloys. the lower variants ride on 16-inch alloy wheels. Moving to dimensions, the new Innova Crysta is longer, wider and taller than the outgoing model. The vehicle measures 4,735mm in length, 1,830mm in width and 1,795mm in height, while the wheelbase is same as the current model – 2,750mm.
The interior, too, receives significant updates with new dual-tone theme, a 7-inch entertainment system with voice commands and Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, dual front and driver knee airbags, ABS, EBD, door ajar warning, rear parking sensors, anti-theft system, etc. Features like 8-inch entertainment system, ambient LED lighting, wood finishing on panels, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist control, curtain airbags and LED projector headlamps will be exclusively available on the higher trims. The new Innova Crysta will be offered with two seating configurations – 7-seats with captain seats for middle row and 8-seats.
