A few months ago, alongside the unveiling of the Ather Rizta, the Bengaluru-based EV maker also introduced an ambitious project — the Halo helmet. Designed in line with the ATher scooters and featuring modern tech, the Halo has seen few takes since its launch and is now available with a Rs 3,000 discount, effectively bringing its price to Rs 10,000.
Ather Halo helmet — What is it?
The Ather Halo helmet is designed to be an extension of the scooter with an integrated communication device and Harmon Kardon speakers. The helmet basically has the device integrated with a battery pack in the helmet itself, while it can be charged in the boot of the scooter itself.
When launched initially, the Halo helmet was priced at Rs 13,000 as an introductory offer for the first 1,000 customers, however, now the helmet is priced at Rs 10,000 after the discount. Ather initially wanted to hike the price to Rs 15,000 after the introductory offer.
Although the helmet was advanced in terms of features, it lacked the most important factor — safety. The Ather Halo is ISI and DOT certified, however, not ECE. Currently, there are several ECE 22.06-rated helmets on sale for under Rs 10,000, which leaves the Halo out of choice for customers.
