Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS: Maruti Suzuki will launch the much-awaited Baleno RS in India soon. Ahead of its launch, the engine specifications of the hatchback have been revealed. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will be powered by a 1.0 litre three cylinder Boosterjet petrol engine that will produce 100 hp of power at 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm of torque between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. The engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission and will be the company's first turbocharged petrol engine in the country. The Baleno RS will feature projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps, integrated turn indicators on ORVMs (Outside rear View Mirrors) and 16-inch alloy wheels. New Honda City: Honda has already teased the video of new Honda City on its YouTube channel and the car is scheduled to be launched on 14th February, 2017. The company has also started accepting the booking of the 2017 Honda City at a minimum amount of Rs 21,000. The new City will receive cosmetic changes such as LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lamps and round-shaped LED fog lamps. The car will also receive revised bumpers, new chrome finished grille and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The rear will get new tail lamps and boot-mounted rear spoiler with LED brake light. The cabin of the new generation Honda City will be equipped with a 'black and silver' themed cabin, a 5-inch or a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which might get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Other convenient features will include an automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, parking camera and leather seat upholstery, while ABS (Anti-lock braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) and dual front airbags will be offered as standard as part of the safety equipment. The 2017 Honda City will be powered by the current model's 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine will produce 117 hp of power and 145 Nm of torque. Honda WR-V: Honda showcased the India-bound WR-V at the 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show in Brazil. The company has now started the production of the compact crossover in India at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The Honda WR-V will be based on the Honda Jazz's platform, but will get different design and equipment. The WR-V stands for 'Winsome Runabout Vehicle' and is a sub-4 metre compact crossover. The vehicle will compete with the Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The Honda WR-V is expected to be powered by a 1.2 litre petrol engine that will produce 87 hp and 110 Nm of torque. The 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine will generate 100 hp of power and 200 Nm of torque. These engine options also power the current Honda Jazz in the country. A 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox will be offered in the petrol variants, while the diesel engine will get a 6-speed manual transmission. New Hyundai Verna: After unveiling the new Hyundai Verna at the 2016 at the Chengdu Motor Show, the carmaker has unveiled the new Verna, which is called as the Solaris, in Russia. The updated Hyundai Verna is likely to be launched in India and will feature minor cosmetic changes. The next-generation Hyundai Verna is expected to receive new projector headlamps and Hyundai's signature hexagonal front grille along with new 16-inch alloy wheel and new LED tail lamps. The interiors of the upcoming sedan is expected to get a dual-tone cabin along with a touchscreen infotainment system which is likely to support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The safety features will include dual front and side airbags, ESP (Electronic Stability Program), automatic climate control system and reverse parking sensors with rear view camera on the higher versions. The base versions will get dual front airbags and ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) as a standard safety feature. New Ford EcoSport: Ford showcased the new EcoSport at the 2016 LA Motor Show, and is expected to hit the Indian showrooms in late 2017. The new Ford EcoSport will be built on Ford's B-segment platform, which also underpins the Fiesta. The new Ford EcoSport will get a host of features such as Sync 3 software with an 8.0- inch touchscreen infotainment system which will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The company has not revealed the power figures and torque of the SUV, but we expect the 2018 Ford EcoSport to be powered by the same range of engines powering the present EcoSport. Tata Nexon: The Tata Nexon has been spied many times on Indian road and is expected to be launched in India in mid-2017. The Tata Nexon will be based on Tata's 'IMPACT' design language and will get a host of new features. The higher variants of the Nexon are likely to get a touchscreen infotainment system, similar to the one equipped on the Tata Hexa. The infotainment system will be a Harman unit with Map MyIndia navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and 8-speakers. The top trims will also receive body coloured door handles as well as reverse parking sensors and 16-inch alloy wheels in addition to steering mounted controls, automatic climate control and keyless entry. The lower versions will get steel wheels, black side body cladding and black coloured door handles. The company will offer the Nexon will standard features like roof rails, rear wiper and roof mounted spoiler with brake light. The Tata Nexon is expected to be powered by the Tiago's 1.2 litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol and a new 1.5 litre common rail turbocharged diesel engine.
