Like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS, the Suzuki Swift Sport also features real time information on the display screen on the performance and average of the car. Suzuki Swift Sport gets a 1.4L turbocharged petrol engine shedding out about 140 hp of power and globally available with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. The car will also host many exterior changes as compared the new-generation Suzuki Swift which has already made an European debut.

The 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport will debut in Japan this year followers by the launch in European markets. The company will also introduce the Suzuki Swift RS globally which will get the 1.0L boosterjet engine making it two sporty variants to complete the portfolio. Maruti Suzuki has not yet confirmed the launch of Swift RS in India yet, but in all possibility the company will bring in the sport variant of Swift in India later in 2018.

Interiors of Suzuki Swift is different in more than one way as compared to the standard third-generation Swift. Car seats are finished in red and has a ‘Sport’ branding on them. Certain other elements like the door panels and dashboard also gets red accents. You will see the red colour on the instrument panel gauges too. To compliment the red stitching on the seats, the gear knob and the steering wheel also gets red stitching to enhance the sporty look.

If launched in India, Maruti Suzuki Swift Sport will compete with the Fiat Punto Abarth. FCA's hothatch is powered by a T-JET 1.4 litre petrol engine that produces 145 hp of power and 212 Nm of peak torque and mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Abarth branded Punto is priced at Rs 9.7 lakh (Ex-Delhi). Globally the Suzuki Swift Sport will take on the likes of Ford Fiesta ST, Hyundai Elantra GT (hatch version), Citroen DS3 and VW Polo.
