After numerous teasers, Ather Energy has launched the Apex 450 electric scooter in India at Rs 1.89 lakh ex-showroom. The new Ather Apex 450 will be the range-topping model in the 450 series and offers more performance compared to the 450S and the 450X.
On the design front, the Ather Apex 450 features similar styling to that of the 450S and the X, however, the biggest difference is the transparent panel over a painted orange chassis, making it stand out, combined with the bold colours.
Apart from the standout design, the Apex 450 gets a host of new tech updates such as Magic Twist, an evolution of regenerative braking that works even on 100% battery charge and has 40% more braking force. The Magic Twist function helps accelerate when the throttle is twisted while it breaks when twisted the other way.
The Ather 450 Apex is powered by the same 3.7kWh battery pack that does its duty in the 450X, however, with a few tweaks along with the new Wrap+ mode, the Apex 450 can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 100kmph. Ather also claims that the Apex delivers 210Nm of torque at the wheel while delivering an IDC range of 157km.
