Hyundai Motor India Ltd has announced that the company has achieved the highest-ever total sales of 71,641 units in September 2023. Based on the report shared by the Korean automaker, it sold 54,241 units in the domestic market and 17,400 units in export.
Hyundai explained that this success is due to the strong demand for SUVs from the customers and the newly launched Exter has helped surge the sales numbers further. With the bookings in excess of 75,000 units, the Exter has a waiting period of up to nine months.

According to Hyundai India, the company recorded a 9.13 per cent growth YoY growth in domestic sales figures as it sold 49,700 units in September 2022. The company further witnessed a YoY of 28.87 per cent growth in the export numbers as it sold 17,400 units in the last month as compared to 13,501 units in September 2022. In terms of total sales, Hyundai registered a YoY growth of 13.35 per cent as it recorded 71,641 units last month as compared to the 63,201 units in September 2022.
Talking about the growth in numbers, Mr Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd said, “In September 2023, HMIL has achieved its highest ever total monthly sales since inception marking a key milestone in the brand’s history. The ongoing festive season has resulted in a strong sales momentum, helping us achieve more than 9% growth YoY in domestic sales in September 2023. Our strong SUV portfolio has received a further boost with the exceptional customer response to the newly launched Hyundai EXTER. SUVs now contribute to more than 65 percent of our domestic sales. The enduring love and admiration by Indian customers for Brand Hyundai is a reflection of the benchmark set by our products in terms of safety & feature integration.”
