Kia is gearing up to launch the new Carnival in India on October 3, and ahead of its official launch, a few Kia dealerships are accepting bookings for the Kia MPV. The new Kia Carnival’s price will be announced next month and will initially be sold as CBUs. Deliveries for the same are expected to happen later in October.
New Kia Carnival: Bookings details and deliveries
Kia has not officially announced bookings for the new Carnival yet, and dealers are handling it themselves as of now. The new Kia Carnival can be booked for a fully refundable amount of Rs 1 lakh, and as per a few dealerships, the MPV is expected to be launched in India in a single top-spec variant.
The top-of-the-line Kia Carnival variant is expected to get dual 12.3-inch displays, front and rear dash cams, ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting, and a host of other creature comforts, including captain seats and an electric rear door.
For the global markets, the Kia Carnival is offered with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine or a 3.5-litre hybrid V6, however, for India, the Kia MPV is expected to get a 2.2-litre diesel engine that makes 196bhp and 440Nm of torque. The engine is expected to be paired to an automatic gearbox.
When launched in India, the Kia Carnival will not have any direct rivals, as the Toyota Fortuner will fall under a much lower price bracket and the Velfire will cost more than twice the Carnival. Dealers are not sure about the final price but expect the new Kia Carnival to be priced around Rs 50 lakh.
